A 2.5 hour, weekly guided intimate studio class focused on learning the foundations of hand-building and developing on knowledge gained in previous beginning hand-building class.

Students will learn:

• Basic hand-building techniques: coiling, slab building, and hand forming

• Build on previous knowledge from the Basic Hand-building class, approaching larger hand-building, test tile making and more.

• How to troubleshoot repairs and best practices for long term creating

• Glazing fundamentals + layering

Come to explore your own ideas, at your own pace, with support when you need it.

Arrive and leave anytime within the session.

Instructor available for technical guidance throughout each session.

Weekly 6:30 PM optional demo to observe and learn.

Time TDB

A 2.5 hour, weekly guided intimate studio class focused on learning the slab construction more intensely. This class will be best suited for someone who’s dappled in hand-building or is ready to plunge into ceramic knowledge.

Students will learn:

• Ceramic Pattern Making + Layout

• Slab prep + basic + intermediate construction

• Slump mold basis, we’ll be using some basic molds provided in this class.

What’s Included:

4lbs of clay - two choices available

paper paper ( 12'“ x 24” )

simple pattern kit to get started

basic slump molds

Curated selection of glazes

Bisque + glaze firing included.

Large scale firing available for additional cost.

Your Questions, Answered

  • There is ample free parking on Addison and Meade.

    The Addison Bus route also stops night in our intersection.

  • All basic tools that you’ll need to get creating.

    If you reach for the same tool during all your sessions, we have some tools available for purchase. We suggest to add it to your personal tool kit.

  • Yes. Please remember this is a shared studio space for creating and be mindful of others.

    There are cups in our shared common area.

  • We teach and mentor through empathy. We believe all learning styles are valid. And we all love teaching, like a lot.

    We teach technique based projects. So, you can apply apply those to your own ideas and concepts.

  • There’s candles, normally some incense burning and calm music. You’re welcome to pop in your earbuds too.

    There is a common area with a couch, filtered water and a tea station as well.

  • Currently we aren’t able to offer 1:1 make up classes because of your limited staff and class schedule.

    Contact your instructor and normally we can work something out.

  • The last day of classes are devoted to glazing. You can expect to pick up your finished glaze fired pieces approx. 4wks after the last day of class. You’ll get an email notifying you when they are ready.
