What to expect:
Brief Studio orientation
Hands-on demos exploring the foundations of hand-building through the creation of your own personal altar objects.
Students will select their glaze color during the workshop. All pieces will be glazed and fired by the instructor and will be ready for pickup approximately four weeks after the workshop.
All materials and tools are provided—just bring yourself and a willingness to create.
Students will learn:
• 3 lbs of clay included (additional clay available for purchase)
• Curated selection of glazes
• Bisque + glaze firing included
• Basic hand-building tools + shared materials
• Calm, intentionally held studio environment
Max class size: 10
What’s not included:
• Clean-up of your personal tools or workspace
• Large-scale firings (projects over 9” x 10”)
• Wheel use — this is a hand-building focused studio
About your Instructor
cheyenne is an interdisciplinary artist the founder of pone + co founder of ma-pa. she’s been working and teaching in creative spaces for over 10 years. her teaching approach is based in empathy, guidance through hands-on examples and supporting her students in their journeys .
Additional Terms
WORKSHOP PREPARATION: Please wear clothing that is comfortable to create in. Clay gets wet, dusty and muddy. Your hand will be your main tools. All students are welcome to bring an apron and note taking devisces.
LATECOMERS: If you arrive to a workshop later than 20 minutes after the stated start time, the instructor may not be able to reshow any missed curriculum. We are not able to provide refunds or makeup classes.
CANCELLATION POLICY: With purchase of a class or workshop ticket, you understand this fee is non-refundable. If the workshop is canceled for any reason, you will receive a full refund, returned via your original payment method. Our team will contact you by phone and/or email with any updates regarding class cancellations.
